Notes: Abstract We consider a classical Coulomb gas with a short distance cutoff in two dimensions; equivalently a Sine-Gordon field theory. For low temperature β-1 and low activityz the gas is in a multipole phase, the Kosterlitz-Thouless phase. For β〉8π andz sufficiently small we give a complete renormalization group analysis for this phase and show that the flow of the effective measures is toward a free field (infrared asymptotic freedom). This should lead to control over the long distance behavior of the theory.

Notes: Abstract We consider theφ 3 4 quantum field theory on a torus and study the short distance behavior. We reproduce the standard result that the singularities can be removed by a simple mass renormalization. For the resulting model we give anL p bound on the short distance regularity of the correlation functions. To obtain these results we develop a systematic treatment of the generating functional for correlations using a renormalization group method incorporating background fields.

Notes: Abstract We consider the λ(ϕ6−ϕ4) quantum field theory in two space-time dimensions. Using the Bethe-Salpeter equation, we show that there is a unique two particle bound state if the coupling constant λ〉0 is sufficiently small. Ifm is the mass of single particles then the bound state mass is given by $$_B (\lambda ) = 2m\left( {1 - \frac{9}{8}\left( {\frac{\lambda }{{m^2 }}} \right)} \right)^2 + \mathcal{O}\left( {\lambda ^3 } \right).$$

Notes: Abstract We consider the pseudoscalar Yukawa model on a four dimensional Euclidean lattice. The fermions are integrated out giving an effective boson interaction. We show that for weak coupling this interaction is in the class covered by the Gawedzki-Kupiainen renormalization group analysis. It follows that one can adjust parameters so that the flow of the renormalization group is toward a free massless boson theory. This establishes the existence of the critical theory and controls its long distance behavior.

Notes: Abstract: We consider the φ4 quantum field theory in four dimensions. The Gaussian part of the measure is modified to simulate 4−ε dimensions where ε is small and positive. We give a renormalization group analysis for the infrared behavior of the resulting model. We find that the Gaussian fixed point is unstable but that there is a hyperbolic non-Gaussian fixed point a distance ?(ε) away. In a neighborhood of this fixed point we construct the stable manifold.

For β= 4 π we construct correlation functions for the field : sin φ \colon; and show that they are equal to the pseudoscalar ―ψΓψ correlation functions for a free fermion theory with mass term confined to the finite square.

Notes: Abstract We present a rigorous renormalization group construction of the two-dimensional massless and massive quantum sine-Gordon models in finite volume for the range 0〈β〈8π. We prove analyticity in the coupling constant ζ, which implies the convergence of perturbation theory. The field correlation functions and their generating functional are analyzed and shown to have the short distance asymptotics of the free field theory. In the massive case the bounds are uniform in volume and we also obtain uniform estimates on the long distance decay of correlations.
