Conclusions 1. Both a specific and a nonspecific (with regard to the type of conditioned stimulus) component are found to exist in the neurohumoral link of the mechanisms of formation and consolidation of the conditioned response of food refusal in the snail. 2. The specific component is revealed only for selection of the optimal conditions with regard to the type of conditioned stimulus, the dose of hemolymph, and the season. 3. When the parameters of the experiment are nonoptimal, either there is a prevalence of the nonspecific component, facilitating conditioning, or the facilitatory effect gives way to an inhibitory effect.
