Abstract A theoretical model and an analytical method, which are suitable for initial elastic buckling analysis of two-dimensional honeycomb structures including hexagonal honeycombs with walls of equal or unequal thickness, rectangular and triangular honeycombs etc., are developed in this paper. The results given in present paper agree well with the experimental data of hexagonal honeycombs with walls of unequal thickness.
