    Notes: Abstract An attached planar, oblique shock with sweep is investigated for the inviscid flow of a perfect gas. The ratio of specific heats, freestream Mach number, and wedge angle in the plane of the freestream velocity are prescribed, with the sweep angle as a free parameter. Explicit relations are provided for jump and detachment conditions. A number of trends, some non-intuitive, are discussed, e.g., the downstream Mach number may increase with sweep.

    Notes: Abstract The flow field associated with a steady, planar, oblique detonation wave is discussed. A revision is provided forβ-θ diagrams, whereβ is the wave angle andθ is the ramp angle. A new solution is proposed for weak underdriven detonation waves that does not violate the second law. A Taylor wave, encountered in unsteady detonation waves, is required. Uniqueness and hysteresis effects are also discussed.

    Notes: The effect of bulk viscosity on a compressible Couette flow between two porous parallel walls is considered. A Stokes' hypothesis solution is contrasted with one where μb/μ=2000 (μ is shear viscosity, μb is bulk viscosity), where the later value characterizes CO2. A new way of measuring μb is suggested, since the two cases differ significantly for the moving wall skin friction coefficient.
