    Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung Drittgradige Brandverletzungen erfordern aus vitaler, funktioneller oder ästhetischer Indikation eine plastisch-chirurgische Therapie. Um das Infektionsrisiko möglichst gering zu halten, sollte mit der Nekrektomie so früh als möglich begonnen werden. Ausdehnung und Tiefe der Gewebsschädigung, der Infektionsgrad der Wunde sowie der Allgemeinzustand des Verletzten entscheiden darüber, ob eine temporäre Defektdeckung notwendig ist oder die autologe Spalthauttransplantation sofort angeschlossen werden kann. Hierzu haben sich neben den Streifentransplantaten Mesh-graft-Transplantate in unterschiedlicher Vergrößerung sehr bewährt.
    Notes: Summary In third-degree bum injuries vital, functional or esthetic indications require surgical therapy. In order to keep the risk of infection as low as possible it is necessary to begin with the necrectomy as soon as possible. Extent and depth of the damaged tissue, the degree of the wound infection as well as the patient's physical condition decide whether the defect should be covered temporarily or whether an autologous splitskin transplantation should be performed. In addition to stripe transplants meshgraft-transplants of different sizes have proved to be very successful in surgery of burn injuries.

Schraubenosteosynthese mit Spongiosaplastik (n = 113), Matti-Russe Plastik (n = 54) und Spanbolzung i. A. an Murray (n = 29) zeigten vergleichbare funktionelle Ergebnisse. Sehr gute und gute Resultate wurden in 51,1 % bis 54,5 % erreicht, unbefriedigende in 34,1 % bis 26,4%. Die Schraubenosteosynthese bietet Vorteile bei ausreichend großem proximalen Fragment. Es wird eine stabile Fixation erreicht. Die postoperative Ruhigstellung ist signifikant kürzer.
    Notes: Summary A total of 215 patients with nonunion of the scaphoid bone were treated operatively and examined 3 months to 10 years after operation. Wrist function in cases with screw fixation (n = 113) was comparable to those with bone grafting according to Matti-Russe (n = 54) and according to Murray (n = 29). Best and good results were achieved in 51.1 % − 54.5 %, poor results in 34.1 % − 26.4 %. Screw fixation is favorable in cases with a big proximal fragment. The fixation is stable and immobilization with plaster postoperatively is shorter than with the other procedures.

    Notes: Alternating copolymers containing 4,4-isopropylidene-bisphenol (BPA) and comonomers with various degrees of polarity have been evaluated to find comonomer structures which provide low melt viscosity and good thermal stability. The materials were prepared by pyridine-catalyzed nucleophilic displacement reactions similar to that for the preparation of BPA polycarbonate. The molecular weights of the polycarbonates depend on the concentration and nucleophilicity of the attacking diol and the concentration and stability of a colored pyridine-chloroformate adduct formed during polymerization. The greatest thermal stability occurs for BPA-DMS and BPA-DEG. Thermomechanical flow measurements and Tg measurements were used to evaluate melt viscosity. The shapes and magnitudes of the Tg vs. Tf curves are sensitive to the copolymer chemical structure.
